The Objective

To immerse young children in the enchanting world of Puffin Rock, fostering environmental stewardship, teamwork, and a love for wildlife. The goal was to create an interactive experience that connects with children ages 6-9, encouraging them to care for their environment through engaging gameplay.

The Solution

We developed Puffin Rock & Friends, an interactive adventure on Roblox that transports players into the beloved Puffin Rock universe. Players can join Oona, Baba, and Bernie on quests to clean the beach, explore the island, and engage in mini-games that emphasize teamwork and environmental care. Each character features unique skills that help players unlock new areas and gather hidden treasures, instilling core values of wildlife protection and community involvement.

The game encourages exploration, collaboration, and responsibility through fun tasks like cleaning the beach and nurturing local wildlife. By maintaining strong storytelling elements throughout the gameplay, we created an emotionally engaging experience that fosters a sense of agency in environmental preservation. The game's expansive and visually captivating environment allows children to explore, discover, and become caretakers of Puffin Rock’s ecosystem. This blend of environmental education with fun and engaging gameplay has proven effective in capturing the attention of young players, leading to high levels of return visits and active participation.

Beta Testing with NLN

Enhanced Accessibility Through Collaboration

As part of our commitment to inclusivity, we partnered with Rehab Group’s National Learning Network (NLN), which provides services for adults with disabilities. Their students actively participated in the beta testing phase, offering invaluable feedback on gameplay mechanics, user controls, and overall user experience. Feedback from NLN students helped us refine instructions and gameplay to ensure that all players, regardless of ability, could enjoy Puffin Rock & Friends.
